Gear Up For Your Ultimate Diving Vacation

The word scuba translates to “Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus.” It comes under the likes of the most popular adventure sports today. Although it requires a bit of preparation, the experience after a dive is unforgettable. You will get to explore the hidden beauty of the ocean that you cannot see from the surface. The experience is one of a kind- you get to float below the ultramarine waters. Not only that, but you will also experience the diverse and colourful aquatic life that will blow your mind. However, you would require some technical training and knowledge coupled with the physical skill before successfully diving. Also, let’s not forget that you will need to equip yourself with the right gear. As proper equipment is crucial for your survival, you should know about all the apparatus that you carry.

We are here to help you with the essential gear that you need. It will help you enjoy your diving experience to the fullest.

Scuba Diving Tank

There’s no diving without a scuba tank. Being the most critical piece of equipment it allows you to “literally” survive underwater. This cylinder contains either large volumes of compressed air or a specialised gas mixture known as EAN. Enriched Air Nitrox is a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen that allows divers to breathe underwater. The maximum pressure rating of most tanks is around 2000 to 3500 psi. Moreover, these tanks have either steel or aluminium as the base material.

Scuba Diving Mask

Do you know that humans cannot see underwater? Well, indeed, you can’t. Therefore, to see all the oceanic beauty, you need a diving mask.

We recommend that you invest in a good quality mask to enrich your experience.

Additionally, find one that fits you perfectly; otherwise, water may seep into your eyes and cause trouble.

Fins

Fins are another vital part of your diving gear. They help you control your movement and allow you to propel yourself in the water. There are two types of fins available- open heel and full foot.

Open heel fins are of the most popular and versatile type. These have straps that hold it in place.

Full foot fins are traditional but still popular among scuba divers and snorkelers. Additionally, these fins are less expensive than their counterparts.

Regulator

A regulator converts the high-pressure air in your diving tank into standard pressured air that you can breathe. It has two components called the first and second stages, respectively.

The first stage is a pipe which connects to the diving tank on your back. Whereas, the second stage is the mouthpiece. This mouthpiece is what you put into your mouth to breathe.

Furthermore, it also has a few gauges and a backup second stage in case the current one fails.

Other Equipment

There is various additional equipment that you can carry along to make your preparation even better.  Examples of a few of them are:

  • First Aid Kit: To cope with emergencies
  • Underwater Lights: For lighting up dark areas and exploring
  • Diving Knife: Use this to free oneself from underwater plants or fishing lines. These knives are also used to get attention by tapping on tanks.
